Built by the Duke of Cumberland on the edge of Windsor Great Park for training his troops, it became famous as the home of the Prince Edward as Prince of Wales and King Edward VIII.
Retained by The Crown Estate the Fort was repaired and extended to re-arrange the accommodation for the family and provide much needed additional space for entertaining. This took the form of conversion of the basement and construction of the two-storey extension seen above.
Project Architect for the re-ordering of the Fort and the construction of the extensions.
