Saint Hugh’s Visitors Accommodation

The Monastery is a closed silent Order founded nearly two millennia ago, included in the Statutory List listed Grade II*.
The Community is allowed to see close relatives twice a year –The relatives stay in the Visitor Accommodation which is on the South side of the entrance range. This project enhances the facilities to meet the need for additional accommodation for the growing Community. The alterations are internal and have no impact on St Hugh’s Monastery nor on the decorated rooms within the Visitor Accommodation itself.
The proposed internal alterations to the Visitor’s House allow for much needed communal gathering space, creating the space needed for the families of the brothers to sleep, eat, congregate, and socialise. It will also provide the much-needed accommodation for those guests unable to inhabit the Guest House due to it being structurally unstable and unsafe for use.
RNA obtained Listed building Consent for the proposed Works, prepared the Construction package, and acted as Contract Administrator for the Works on site.
